The Drainx Spinfeed Drum Auger is a versatile and cost-efficient tool suitable for both household and professional use. The auger features an enclosed drum with a protective casing for maximum safety, and users are advised to wear eye protection and work gloves while operating the tool. The cable, with a thickness of 1/4" and a capacity for 1/2" to 1-1/2" pipes, is designed to navigate through various drainage systems.

The operating instructions recommend holding the auger within 4" of the drain opening, or providing cable support with a similar-sized pipe to prevent curling or twisting. The user should ensure that a minimum of one foot of cable is inserted into the drain to allow for effective whipping action when the cable starts turning.

When using a drill, it must be set to a low speed of less than 500 rpm. The user should place one hand over the handle with the trigger and the other hand on the drill handle or the auger knob if operating manually. The drum should be turned clockwise, as indicated by the arrow on the back of the drum, while squeezing the trigger to advance the cable into the drain.

If the cable stops turning, it is not cleaning, and the user should avoid continuing to spin and advance at the same time. Instead, they should spin the cable without advancing it or advance the cable very slowly to help break up the clog.

When the drain has been cleaned, the drum should be turned counterclockwise while squeezing the trigger to retract the cable.
